Marc on Scavenger Hunt

(Note getting thrown out of The Gap, guy eating pizza (disgusting), etc.)

Marc on the Home Run Derby, Part Two

"Even though I had a lot of fun with this event, I mostly remember two particularly frustrating things. The first was that we were kicked off the field just as David was in a groove of hitting balls over the fence. When we returned later in the day, the wind had turned and David was not nearly as successful as his first go-around.

Likewise, I wasn't hitting many home runs nor scoring many points with four outfielders defending the left field fence. David convinced me to try to hit the other way while he pitched outside. I did it once and it worked! We scored a point by hitting the fence. However, a player was soon sent over to defend the right field fence and my pride took over. I asked David to pitch inside even though he pleaded with me to try to continue to hit the other way. He ended up being right."

Marc on Mission: Impossible 2

"A few of my thoughts can already be found in other areas of the site (MBBB Movie Curse), but let me just pile onto the stupidity here. The mask reveal from the first movie is way overused; it felt like characters pulled off masks half a dozen times. Also, one particularly ridiculous scene occurs during the climax of the film. Tom Cruise and Dougray Scott are speeding towards each on motorcycles, likely exceeding the speed limit. They jump off of them and collide with each other mid-air. What would you expect? Broken ribs? Death, maybe? No, they're perfectly fine. In fact, they're unharmed to the point that they can immediately follow the collision up with a kung fu fight (since Ethan Hawke knows kung fu all of sudden)."

Marc on Laser Tag

"Even though we weren't aware of the rules of the game (as we shuttled in to the game area so quickly), I still felt that I was doing well. I aimed my gun at enemies and shot at them with a sense of satisfaction. When the points were totaled up however, I saw that my score was terrible. I had received numerous deductions for shooting Mehr (who was my teammate) over and over again. I could only ascertain that the equipment was faulty; I had never aimed at Mehr, but we were in close proximity for a lot of the match as we worked together.

Despite this disheartening experience, we once again tried out Laser Tag for my bachelor's party over 10 years later (though not at Q-Zar). This time, the equipment worked great and we all had a much more satisfying time."
