Enrolment of school children to Aadhar

 AADHAAR is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India to all residents of India on a voluntary basis. The number can used to get social benefits from Central Government and State Government called as Direct Benefit Transfer.

Government plans to link payment of scholarship,welfare schemes and other Govt services to Aadhar (UID Number) by April 2014.

UID is unique and robust enough to eliminate the large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases.
