Interstate 81 in this project enters just north of PAW Patrol City, NY and heads south out of this project at Onoville, PA. Though this project, I-81 is mostly cosigned along I-686 (Kion-Twilight Beltway).

Route Description

I-81, called Syracuse - Canada Exwy heads south into this project from Castle Creek, NY to a interchange with NY 405 (Cute KP Turnpike). After this I-81 continues south to a interchange with Cute Kion State Pkwy & I-686, were I-81 joins eastbound onto I-686. I-81 runs along the I-686 beltway intersecting with I-86/NY 17 (Beautiful Rainbow Dash Fwy), I-84 (Patches Memorial Turnpike) and I-80 (Pride Lands Exwy) before leaving I-686 in Onoville, PA heading south out of this project as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Exwy.

The current interchange between Interstate 686 & Interstate 81 in the north (PAW Patrol City) is a cloverleaf interchange. This means I-81 south traffic has to go around a 1 lane, 25 mile loop ramp onto I-686 East. This interchange is currently being redone as a Stack Interchange.
