Wireguard in Cinnamon

First install wireguard:

sudo apt install wireguard

Go to Werkbalkhulpkes and install VPN sentinel and activate it. The first time it asks you to install some aditional packages. Do that, and after tha you can manage the wireguard VPN connections.
