Minitube 2.0 and Musique 1.2.1

Minitube, a native Youtube client for ubuntu and Linux Mint which you can use to play YouTube videos without Flash, has been updated recently and the new version is available in the main WebUpd8 PPA for Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10 and 13.04.

Read the details here

To install the latest Minitube 2.0 in Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10 or 12.04, use the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minitube

Important: if the playback doesn't work in Minitube, you've probably encountered the MP4 Gstreamer bug affecting Minitube, Totem and other players - you'll find a fix HERE.

Musique (previously known as Minitunes) is a Qt music player created by the Minitube developer, Flavio Tordini, which doesn't come with many options but offers an interesting interface which lets you browse your music by album covers or folders, displays Last.fm information and more.

Musique 1.2.1 has been released today, the new version bringing faster scrolling and a speed up in the way the artist photos and album covers are painted on the screen. There's also Ambiance integration for Ubuntu (the toolbar should look better when using the Ambiance theme) and a fix for system language settings detection.

To install Musique in Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10 or 12.04, use the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install musique
