Ubuntu 22.04:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nico-marcq/indicator-ip
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3-indicator-ip
At first, the ppa may not be updated yet for jammy jellyfisch and gives an error, and you should change the source to focal fossum.
use the extra drivers program and select the other software tab. look for https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/nico-marcq/indicator-ip/ubuntu/
and change "jammy" to "focal". Now rerun:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3-indicator-ip
Then run
indicator-ip
