Ham and Peas Macaroni Alfredo

Ham and Peas Macaroni Alfredo:

1 lb. box casserole macaroni

1 stick butter

1/2 lb. deli or left over ham, sliced to 1/4 thick  

1 cup frozen peas

1 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 pint light cream

1/4 tsp. salt

Slice ham into 1/8” x 1/4” x 1 1/2” strips. Set aside.  

Cook pasta until al dente according to package directions.  

While pasta is cooking, add butter to a large saucepan on medium heat. Using a grater or microplane, grate garlic into butter. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Do not let the butter or garlic brown. Add light cream and salt, stirring frequently. When cream comes to a simmer, add cheese stirring until mixture thickens. Gently fold in peas and ham.  

Drain pasta. Add to sauce, stirring to incorporate. Serve immediately.
