Found in a Christmas Card: To Arthur from Alan and Family

"The chart is of your Grandfathers family, John being the eldest son. This came to light when my aunt Mary Rutland died in May this year. She was a sister-inlaw to my father and the sole remaining link of my parents generation, which means the first cousins fo this family brance, Gavin Rutland, myself, Pamela and Cynthia (nee Larcombe) are the next generation in line."

"Information known about the Rutland Family.

John Rutland died 9th April 1897 at Christrchurch, aged 73 years.

Mary Rutland, his wife, died 19th December 1901 at Christchurch Aged 77 years.

Ann Gould (Mary's sister) died August 1891 at Christchurch aged 63 years.

John Bishop died while holidaying in England, 1929. His daughters died at Auckland, both at an elderly age. Both sons, whereabouts unknown.

Charles Edwin Rutland died single of menangitis at Christchurch Aged 20.

Thomas Gould Rutland died 14th July, 1913 at Melbourne, Aged 60.

Walter George Rutland, died at Wanganui, 1925 in his 60's.

Arthur Rutland died 2nd December 1931 at Nelson aged 67.

John Bishop (Thomas's son) single, killed in action, Anzac Day 25th April 1915.

George Leonard Rutland, single, killed in Action Anzac Day, 25th April 1915. His name is inscribed in the Auckland museum war memorial division.

Frederick William Rutland. Died 10th March 1915 at Christchurch, aged 75.

Emma Rutland, his wife, died 1st December 1951 at Christchurch aged 73.

Ethel Rutland died, single, at Melbourne, 1955 aged 48.

Harold Frederick Rutland died 2nd March 1967 at Christchurch aged 67.

Alfred Gould Rutland, drowned on the Wahine disaster, Wellington Harbour (aged 77) while enroute over from Melbourne to visit his sister, Clarice, at Christchurch.

Elizabeth Rutland died May 1958 at Nelson aged 96.

Phylis Rutland died January 1963 at Nelson.

Frederick Gould Rutland died 13th August 1969 at Christchurch aged 61.

Eileen Larcombe (nee Rutland) died 17th October 1973 at Christchurch aged 72.

Mary Eveline Buchall (nee Rutland) died 18th October 1973 at Te Puke aged 86.

Cynthia Rutland died 18th July 1977 at Christchurch aged 77.

Clarice Rutland died 4th November 1978 at Christchurch aged 81.

Cyril Rutland died December 1979 at Otorohanga aged 85.

(Note: This information appears to be incorrect. Cyril's real name was Arthur Cyril Rutland. He died in Te Kuiti on 27 November 1979).

Florence Rutland, his wife, died November 1978 at Te Awamutu.

Norman Larcombe died 10th February 1981 at Christchurch aged 75.

These names are written in Rev. Scotts bible. I am sending this document to my son, Thomas, by his wife who has been on a visit to me and about to return to Melbourne.
