GEORGE BURROWS (parents HENRY BURROWS and ELIZABETH NEAL)

b. 19 October 1873 in Dunedin.

d. 21 August 1964 in the Public Hospital, Ranfurly.

1. Married ANGELINA GRIGG (parents JOSEPH GRIGG and KARENHAPPUCH VARCOE) in 24 June 1900 in Brunnerton.

d. 16 January 1933, Palmerston North.

2. He then married EMMELINE HIGMAN in c. 1933 in Dunedin.

GEORGE BURROWS

Birth Certificate: Ref - 1873/1823. HARRY's profession was given as a miner. They were resident in Bannockburn, Otago.

Marriage Certificate: Ref - 1900/3430. GEORGE was 26 years of age (and a Miner) when they were married, ANGELINA was 22 (and a 'domestic'). GEORGE was born in Bannockburn, Otago, and ANGELINA was born in Moonta, Australia. HARRY BURROW's occupation was a Bootmaker, whilst JOSPEH's was a Miner. ELIZABETH BURROW's maiden name is given as NEAL (as opposed to NEIL's on GEORGE's birth certificate). The marriage was witnessed by Emily Grigg (Domestic, Brunnerton) and Adolphus Shannon, Miner, Brunnerton.

Death Certificate: Ref - 1964/4769. His occupation (was well as his fathers) was listed as a Bootmaker. He was 91 years old when he died. He died of Terminal Pneumonia, senility, prostate cancer with secondaries. He was 27 when he married ANGELINA and 60 when he married EMMILINA. He died after EMMILINA. He had two children still living: M - 63, F - 61.

Will: A Will is available from the Website Owner upon request. Administration of the Will was granted to Joseph Henry Burrows and Kyra Tucker. George's profession at time of death was a 'Retired Boot Repairer. All plate, china, gladd, books, pictures, prints, furniture and other articles of household use or ornamentation and all jewellery watches and other articles of personal use wear or adornment went to his wife Emmeline. From her death Joseph and Kyra were to have equal shares.

ANGELINA GRIGG

Birth Certificate: Her fathers occupation appears to be 'Joiner'.

Death Certificate: Ref - 1933/446. She was 55 when she died. Cause of Death: Pulmonary infarct myocarditis. She had lived in New Zealand for 48 years. She had two children still living: M - 32, F - 29. She died en route to Palmerston North Hospital from Temuka. Her fathers occupation was a Miner. She was married when she was 22 years old.

She is buried in Kelvin Grove Cemetery (Palmerston North), Area in Cemetery: C, Cemetery Block: 006, Plot Number: 037. She was interred on 18 January 1933. She was 55 years old when she died, and her address was 'Temuka'. Gravestone Inscription "Lin Beloved Wife of George Burrows and Dearly Loved Nana of Ken and Wee Norma. At Rest"
