Technology Requirements

We recommend purchasing your laptop online from the Kendall Apple Store. We have set up bundles for your convenience.

If bundles are not available look at the following minimum system requirements for more detail. Be aware that you are not limited to these requirements and larger or more powerful Apple laptop will work as well

Input Devices for Students focusing in Digital Imaging or 2D Animation

    • Intuos 5 Tablet by Wacom - Medium
    • (The Wacom tablet is the industry leader and provides the most levels of sensitivity in the terms of creating thick/thin and light/dark lines and strokes. If you buy one of these tablets you will own a pen which is compatible with the CIntiq 21UX Lab and you are not required to buy an additional pen.)

Cintiq Pen- Required if you do not own an Wacom Intuos 5 tablet with compatible pen.

NOTE:

  • (Students who already have bought a tablet (such as the Wacom Intuos 3 or 4 or the older version Wacom Intuos4 Tablet or Adesso, etc)- who have a pen which is not compatible with the Cintiq 21UX Lab (for example Wacom part numbers - KP501E or any Pen with part number starting in ZP. If you have a non compatible pen, you are also required to own a Wacom Pen that is compatible with the Cintiq 21UX lab.) Caution: If the Wacom Pen part number does not have the 2 on the end it will not be compatible with the Wacom Cintiq21UX lab.
