3D CHARACTER MODELING

PREREQUISITES: KCDM 232 or KCDM 295
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
An advanced 3D modeling class concentrating on Character construction for Print
and Animation.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
The student will be able to:
1.Develop drawings to use as templates for Character construction.
2. Understand and use subdivision modeling processes associated with building characters in 3D for Print and Animation.
3. Build and develop Character models for Print and Animation using box, edge, or
point modeling processes.
4. Prepare Character models for different Illustrative styles.
5. Rig Character models.
6. Work with FK and IK for posing and staging Character models for Print and Animation.
7. Prepare and render imagery for 2D and 3D Printing.
8. Discuss and critique ongoing construction projects and final rendered imagery
9. Understand copyright issues associated with 3D Character models and various
character genres.
10. Recognize how the 3D Character modeling can work within their major area of study.
