You have 10 minutes to present followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Be prepared and be brief. You will present from your laptop. It will be hooked to the projector. Have all files open, organized and ready to view. For examples of items listed below, go to this page of the DMUX Design Guide.

1. In brief, explain your career plan:

• Focus (field of interest)

• Desire to freelance, find employment, both.

• Top 5 things employers & art directors are looking for in a portfolio (in your field)

• What you bring as a person to an employer or a project.

2. Demographic: I am giving you this... no need to reiterate unless it will be different in your field:

• Age is at least 30 and probably more like 40-50. Will be in a big hurry to get through a lot of portfolios in a short period of time. May or may not be a digital native. Could be using a small laptop computer or a large display. Will have Broadband Internet. Will be very concerned about how well you might 'fit' as a person into their organization. They are looking for artists.. with passion. Will be looking to hire someone with the ability to create media very similar to what they do. Small companies look for generalists. Medium companies need specialists with additional skills in a variety of areas. Large companies hire specialists.

3. Delivery Systems: What will you need:

• Basic Website?

• High-end Website (with motion)?

• Reel (on web and DVD)?

• Printed 'Book' portfolio? or Downloadable pdf? Both?

4. Emotional connection: Briefly describe.

• Fun? Technically Capable? Lyrical? Energetic? Unsettled? Delighted? Informed? or.....

Go to the Adjectives page to look for more.

5. Show 3 or more benchmarks.

6. Show your site-map. Put a single asterisk next to the projects that you plan to re-work and a double asterisk next to projects you plan to create new.

7. Show your Wireframe layout. One drawing for every page type, to scale.

• Possible page types: Preloader, Splash, Portfolio, Detail, Bio/About Me, Project Info, Contact Info, Resume, Other?

• Keep in mind, that the design standard for viewing area for web media is 900 x 550 pixels. The site can be larger, but content must fit in here at any particular scroll point.
