COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Focuses on computer-based 3D animation techniques, concepts, and practices used in animating products, and sequential storytelling.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

The student will be able to:

1. Recognize how 3D modeling can work within their major area of study.

2. Understand copyright issues associated with 3D Animation and various genres.

3. Identitify and use various modeling processes associated with computer-based animation development.

4. Plan, conceptualize, and develop storyboards for animation production, following current industry standards.

5. Describe and use various design techniques and methods associated with computer-based animation.

6. Identify and apply motion language to animations.

7. Create animations for CD/DVD, web, broadcast, and film.

8. Understand and apply basic concepts of computer-based animation.

9. Design, animate, and simulate products and interactive objects.

10. Discuss and critique ongoing animation projects and final rendered movies.
