2D ANIMATION I

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will mix traditional and digital imagery to create two-dimensional animated art related to their major area of study.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

The student will be able to:

1.Recognize current animation genres, understand the related copyright issues, and discuss possible distribution channels for animated works.

2.Communicate an animation project concept in concise verbal, visual, and written formats.

3.Apply concept, design, and production processes that are congruent with current industry standards for an animation project that is no longer than 1.5 minutes in length.

4.Create finished art and incorporate it into a finished animation made with Flash software that uses digital techniques to emulate multi-plane camera.

5.Publish animation for delivery via CD, DVD, Web, video, film, or broadcast media. Apply basic pacing and staging strategies to a linear or non-linear narrative animation.

6.Discuss, debate, and ideate animation concept proposals, works in progress, and finished works as a member of a review group.
