COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will work in a team environment as specialists utilizing an appropriate combination of illustration and animation techniques to create a mixed media animation, game or interactive project.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

The student will be able to:

1.Evaluate the appropriate fair use of media employed in the production of mixed media animation.

2.Compose, as a group, concise verbal, visual, and written communication materials to pitch to a client in the form of a clearly defined animation project proposal.

3.Work in a team environment as a specialist in one or more production positions. These can include concept, storyboard, character or background illustration as well as animation, compositing and interactive scripting.

4.Understand concept, design, and production processes that are congruent with current industry standards for a client driven, mixed media, studio animation, game or interactive project.

5.Translate their understanding of current mixed media trends into finished art and incorporate it into a finished project produced with Flash software that is published for delivery via CD/DVD, Web, video, film, or broadcast media.

6.Work on a team that can produce an animation, game or interactive project that seamlessly blends Flash symbol animation with one or more of the following; live-action, roto-scoping, stop motion, photography or illustration.

7.Apply animated or interactive media that meets either client-driven or instructor-driven objectives.

8.Based on client reviews, modify animation concept proposals and works in progress to meet or exceed the project objectives.
