PREREQUISITES: KCDM 306 or KCDM 319 or DM 356

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will create a self-designed imaging, animation or interactive project that demonstrates their aesthetic voice as well as their technical skills.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

The student will be able to:

1. Evaluate the appropriate fair use of media employed in the production of Imaging, animation and interactive media.

2. Generate a written career or business-plan, informed by job market research, that will include planning for; thesis course-work, portfolio building, finances and networking.

2. Generate a written portfolio plan, informed by job market research, that will include proposals for; thesis course-work and reworking of existing projects. (https://sites.google.com/site/dmanimationprojectsite/careerplan)

3. Compose concise verbal, visual, and written communication materials to develop an original concept.

4. Design and execute a concepting and production process and schedule that supports industry standard practices for an Imaging, animation, or interactive media project.

5. Develop project concepts informed by professional goals that target a specific Digital Media market. Remove this... it is now redundant to item 2.

6. Function within a creative community where mentor-ship, collaboration and critique are shared with industry professionals and/or forums. Remove this... we are not really doing it.

7. Collaborate with other student artists, designers, musicians and programmers, within or outside of the Kendall environment.

8. Make recommendations, critique and justify concept proposals, works in progress, and finished works as a member of a review group.

9. Advance their thesis projects and projects completed in previous courses based on critiques from a review group.
