HADITH OF THE DAY
FOLLOWING IMAM IS A SUNNAH
Narrated by Abu Huraira
The Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Upon Him) said, “Isn’t he who raises his Head before the Imam afraid that Allah may transform his Head into that of a donkey or his appearance similar to that of a donkey.”
Note: When a person prays behind an Imam 4 scenarios may apply –
1. Anticipation (Doing a movement before the Imam) – Haraam
2. Delay (Lagging behind the Imam) – Makes Prayer Invalid
3. Doing an action simultaneously with the Imam - Makrooh
4. Following (Start action immediately after Imam start) - Sunnah
