HADITH OF THE DAY
ZAKAT-UL-FITR
Narrated by Ibn Umar
Allah’s Messenger (Peace & Blessings of Allah upon Him) enjoined the Payment of 1 Sa’ of dates or 1 Sa’ of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, & He ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the ‘Eid prayer’. (1 Sa’ = 3 Kilograms approximately.)
Note: The main purpose of Zakat-ul-Fitr is to provide the poor which they can celebrate 'Eid al-Fitr' along with the rest of the Muslims.
