Night of Rewards
The Night before Eid is also known as ‘Laylat-ul-Jaiza’ or ‘Night of Rewards’. The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) said: ‘There are 5 Nights on which dua is not rejected: the first Night of Rajab, the fifteenth Night of Shaban, Thursday Night, the Night before Eid-ul-Fitr and the Night before Eid-ul-Adha’. (As-Suyuti)
There is no specific Ibaadat to be performed in the Night before Eid. One may engage in any form of Ibaadat, Nafl Salaah, Zikr, Dua, Tilawaat, etc.
It had been the practice of the Prophet that he would not sleep in the Night preceding the day of Eid-ul-Fitr. This Night has been named in a Hadith as the Night of Reward (Laylat-ul-Jaiza).
Almighty bestows his rewards on those who have spent the month of Ramadan abiding by the dictates of Shariah, and all their prayers in this Night are accepted. Therefore, it is desirable to perform Nafl prayers in this Night.
The Prophet (Peace be upon Him) is reported to have said:
Whoever stands up (in Worship) in the Nights preceding the 2 Eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his Heart will not die when the other Hearts will die. [Ibn Majah]
Note: Keep making dua on the final Night of Ramadan for Allah to accept all your good deeds and forgive your sins.
The Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said: ‘On the last Night of Ramadan the fasting Muslims are forgiven.’
