Scroll down for a new version of dingbat in challenge 4 and you'll see the symbol used for 3.14! Anyone know its name?

P.S. A PIZZA SLICE IS A SECTOR OF A CIRCLE!

We are moving onto measuring the circumference today. You'll remember that the circumference is the distance of the circle's edge. It's a special type of perimeter. If this circle was opened up and straightened, the circumference would be the length of it. Look at the second picture, the length of the string (circumference) measures just over three times the diameter. 3.14 to be precise!

So a very important Maths rule now exists =

CIRCUMFERENCE = DIAMETER X 3.14

SO....

DIAMETER = CIRCUMFERENCE ÷ 3.14

AND REMEMBER...

RADIUS X 2 = DIAMETER

Challenge 2: Physical Challenge of the Day!
