Tuesday 2nd February

Hello sparkling 6th class!

Hope you're all well today!

So impressed by all the projects you all did on OVERCOMING ADVERSITY - so fascinating to read them all. You can too by clicking here!

I emailed you all with your code for Book Creator and great to see some of you have been experimenting already! Log in today if you can and just spend some time trying it out!

Today's third subject is Science / History combined. It falls within our Storytelling theme because it is one of the most famous stories ever told - the true story of discrimination. It's actually a Social Science lesson aimed at secondary school students but I feel like a mature and responsible group of 6th class such as you will be able to engage with it.

We will have a Question and Answer session today at 1.30pm with the usual whole class code : https://meet.google.com/hqm-fmfh-dow

Email ME or Ms. Desmond if you've any questions in the mean time.

Stay safe,

Ms. Spillane

PS - It's tight at the top after day 1 of IXL - 🥇Zihan 🥈Matéo 🥉Liz 🔥🔥

Subject 3: Science & History : A FAMOUS STORY

We've just finished our theme of Overcoming Adversity and we've studied people who have been discriminated against because of the colour of their skin, their disability, their religion. Have you ever heard of someone being discriminated against on the colour of their eyes? Take a look at this.

When the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in Tennesse in 1968, primary teacher Jane Elliott taught her class a daring lesson in discrimination. Elliott divides her class into two groups — those with blue eyes and those with brown eyes — and discriminates against one group. Please work through the video, information and MCQ Quiz underneath.

Challenge 4: Daily Dingbat!

ONLY ONE CLASSMATE REMAINS : Who am I?
