Do I think Byod is a good thing, yes especially One Direction wise a big YES.

I think Byod is important because you get to go on your device all day ( teachers permission) but for lunch and before school and after school so its better than nothing I guess, also we get twitter and YouTube accounts so we can watch and follow 1D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
