Self Portrait

For this assignment, we had to take an image of ourselves that was creative, and uses as many compostion rules as we can. For creating my image, I began by taking an up close picture of my eye in natural lighting near a window, then edited that by adjusting it's color and saturation. Next, I took an image in the parking lot at the school during the golden hour after lacrosse practice, then edited the colors and adjusted the lighting of this to make the colors stronger and pop more. My next step was putting both the images into photoshop then overlayed them and adjusted the opacity on the eye image until it was at the desired fade I wanted. What makes this image stronger is that it uses close distance, sharp focus, low horizon line, leading lines, and a little bit of formal balance. I'm proud of how this image turned out. It's definitely one of my more creative pictures. I think the colors work well with my brown eye and I really like how the twigs on the tree blends in nicely with my eyelashes.
