Monochromatic Color

For this project, we were to create an image that's main focus is monochromatic colors (one color). To create this image, I placed a vase with 7 carnations right infront of the window. The day I took this, it was very foggy out which created a very bright, white lighting. The carnations were all within similar colors. There were red, dark pink, light pink, and dark pink and white. I didn't really want to put a colored filter on this image because I wanted to make it clear that the colors were different, yet similar. I positioned the flowers in the way I wanted them. This created informal balance, selective focus (for the flower in the front), rule of thirds, repetition and grouping, sharp focus, and some high key lighting. Overall, I think this is a very strong image . It's creative and uses many composition rules. I hardly edited this image at all. I enhanced it so the colors were brighter, then I used the "fade" filter to make it more monochromatic. To improve on this image, I wish it was more monochromatic. I wish I went into photoshop and added a pink tint to it but overall I'm proud.
