For this project we had to create an image based off a famous painting. I was inspired by Andy Warhol because I liked how his artwork used colors that pop and how it looks like a scetch. The process for creating this image pretty simple. I had Griff stand infront of a white board so that there was a simple backgorund and used the flash for some more shadows. I then printed it out on transparency paper and went into the darkroom. I exposed the photo paper for 4 seconds because the first time I tried it for 2 seconds and it was too light. I wasnt really sure how I could make the colors bright like Andy's because the paper was grey and black. I pretty much just kept adding color around his face with colorful sharpies and I would practice on the first paper that was exposed for 2 seconds. Once I finished coloring around his face, it still wasn't popping enough so I took some yellow water colors and painted it on the print. I think it came out really well and you can definetely tell that it was inspired by Andy's work. One thing I wish I could go back and fix would be putting a filter on when exposing the paper so it wasn't so grey.
