Inspired

To create this image, I knew in my head that my portfolio was black and white inspired by Jane Fulton. I wanted a more “dramatic” picture so to do this I looked around the house trying to imagine in my head of something that would look Jane Fulton inspired- so something simple and elegant. There was a vase full with flowers with a couple white and a red rose, this is what made me know this could easily be dramatic and elegant- especially if I put it in black in white

I was originally going to be inspired by Alice Hargrave but after looking deeper into each of the photographers portfolios, I chose Jane because I felt like I was more capable of recreating one of her photos and turning it into my work.

I chose to take a photo of this white rose because I thought it really related well to Jane’s Portfolio “Water Works” where she had a lot of elegant pictures of a leaf in water- and she used a faded effect to every photo. That’s what inspired mine to all be in black and white. Out of all the ones I chose this one was my favorite because I really liked how you could see all the texture and patterns within the petals of the rose.
