Magnification

For this project, we had the option of focusing on a reflection or an image of something magnified. I had two images that I am proud of for many differing reasons. For creating the first image, I had my mom stand infront of a window so that I could get natural lighting which will make the image appear brighter. I stood fairly close to her however the camera was having trouble focusing when it was to close so what I did was stepped further back, then I made sure it was in sharp focus, and late cropped it. What I like about this image is that it sort of covers both the options- reflection and magnification because if you look closely, you can see me and the window in the reflection of her eye. I'm very happy that I chose to take this photo infront of a window because the lighting is perfect and it brightened my moms eye and made it so that you can see more details within the eye. When editing this image, I didn't have to do much. All I did was cropped it so it looks closer, then adjusted the lighting and made it brighter. Overall I'm very happy with this image and it uses some of our compostion rules such as sharp focus, selective focus, close up, and formal balance. For the second image all I did was took an apple, sprayed it with water for droplets, and placed it in front of a window for natural lighting. I was very close up and put the focus on the water droplets on the front of the apple. This image uses sharp focus, selective focus, close distance, and rule of thirds. When editing this, I adjusted the color and enhanced it so it appeared brighter, and the color popped. I'm proud of both of these image as they are completely different.
