Reflection

Looking back at my work this semester, I noticed a huge improvement on photo quality and the compostitions used in each picture. I saw the most improvement during film because I found that as the year went on, instead of slacking, I was putting in more and more effort. I use to just take pictures to get the assignment done but as the year went on, I would have ideas in my head ahead of time and try and put a lot of thought into having stronger images. Looking at my first couple of images from earlier in the semester, I notice that my photos are very very posed and are lacking in composition like my hand image as well as my foot image. Then if you look at the more recent projects like the weather or relationships ones from film, the photo's themselves are more creative and you can really tell there was a lot of thought and effort put into them. For this semester, I definitely struggled the most with film because of the amount of time I put into the darkroom. I never really wanted to do test strips just because it took out time from me actually getting a print done so I stuggled a lot with finding the right exposure for each print as well as the contrast and seeing if whether or not to use a filter. This caused me to have to make atleast three prints for each project until I got it right. Overall, I'm very proud of my prints, especially because I felt that they were improving with each project. It was all about time management, but in the end it worked out and my grades were improving.
