Montage- Final Prints

For this assignment, we were to take our photo montages and find an object that will create an overall more interesting image that is unique and that keeps in mind our compositions and techniques. Here are my favorite two out of the five images we had to create. For the first image shown, I took the inverse image of my photomontage and placed it over a white piece of paper in the dark room. I then took some lobster netting out of a bag of random items we could choose from and completely covered the photomontage that was over the paper and exposed it for 3 seconds. This took me two tries because the first time, when I was developing the image I made the mistake of not making sure the image was completely submerged into the developer so the final product had a big are bubble so the coloring wasn't even. The second time worked because I made sure to have it completely submerged. The reason I chose to do the lobster net is because I noticed that when I covered the picture with it, it looked like a fence and it reminded me of looking through a fence at the animals in a zoo. For the second image, I basically had the same process except this time I took feathers from the bag and strategically placed them over the top of the image so that it didn't cover too much. What I really liked about this one is how the feathers look like parts to a palm tree in front of the camera and I like how much it goes with the theme of the photo.
