About Me

I was born in Portland Maine, and I have a sister who is 2 years younger than me. I’m not really sure what I want to do for my career but maybe something having to do with sports medicine. In 5 years, I will be attending a college hopefully for sports medicine. In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends and play sports. I’m actually most proud of how my sports career has been going in high school so far. I enrolled in this course because I really enjoy taking pictures, and in photography 1 I learned many cool techniques for how to improve on my photos and I’d like to learn more. An artist that I’m interested in is John Abbott. He takes a lot of inspiring pictures that are creative and simple. My ideal job would be a physical therapist or something with working with athletes. As a person I am, outgoing, athletic, intelligent, and organized.

This photo draws my attention because the setting of it is pretty with the sun and the fall trees. The sun coming through the tree's in the corner of the photo really draws attention to the people in the center. The sun creates some orange spots that center around the main focus which makes the background less distracting. It's not just the fact that the people are in the center of the photo with the sun revolving around it that makes it cool, it's also how they're posed. Their heads are higher off the ground and take up space where the photo is lacking. This image to me is showing love. It seems like the photographer is really trying to capture the love between these two people. It's a very dramatic photo with it's setting, and the sun, as well as the people being in a pose someone wouldn't typically be in. The way her legs are place really elongates the photo and leaves space for the sun without taking away from it.

I'm drawn to this photo because the lighting of the room is very dark and the art that this image is mainly focusing on is lit up and castes a cool light which makes the objects in front of it a silhouette. The ceiling beams create a leading line effect that draws your eye's to the artwork. The man in the bottom right corner looking at the art adds to the photo because he fills up where there'd be some empty space and it also uses rule of thirds. The image of the tree really makes you think. The meaning of this photo sort of gives me a sense of lonliness beccause the man in the corner is sitting by himself, in a dark, empty room. But it's the little details about it, like the fact that it's sideways, it's bright compared to the room, it adds depth to the photo becuase the shape of it is very long- yet narrow which really creates a different perspective.

I'm drawn to this photo mainly because it's dramatic. The black and white really adds to it. It's also sort of a depressing photo. The people are all looking out to see, no one is interacting with anyone else, and the face that you can actually see is completely blank. I feel like the story this image is telling us is that these people are all waiting to arrive to the destination and I'm assuming to see someone special. The photographer took this photo at different angle which makes the image unbalanced but in a cool, different way. Especially how the boat is tilted, exposing the water only on the right side using rule of thirds.

I'm personally not a fan of this image however it did draw my attention because of the story it's telling us. I feel like by showing us an elder women and her dog on the streets, says how that dog may be the only thing she has. Especially with the way she is embracing it in her arms shows us her love and protection for it. The way the lady and her dog are completely centered (formal balance) definetely gives them the main focus. The background is simple, yet has a neat pattern that clashes with her jacket without taking away from the focus and I like how this image has that because it's a rather bland photo and could use some different textures.

This photo caught my eye mainly because of the color pop it has. The image is taken at an angle that makes you feel like your looking up which is a different perspective then most pictures are taken at. This image really puts some questions into your head. Why are there what looks like kids balloons in a fancy, old city? The balloons are in two groups, one of bright yellow pooh bears, and the others are a bright pink bunny. There is also a randomly placed pink and white unicorn which adds even more pop of color. These groups of balloons are strategically placed in front of a big, fancy, old building with a very bland color, and with the pop of color from them, really makes a strong image. I think this photo is trying to tell us how even in an old, and what looks like a boring city, that it is a happy, welcoming place. It even seems like it's trying to attract families to show it's kid- friendly. The color pop of the balloons and how they're positioned in front of a big building sort of towards the corners really creates a strong image with a lot of meaning.
