Family Still Life

For this project, we had to create an image that is a still life of things that represent our families. The process of creating my image consisted of taking images that were around my house of my family and I put them all together on a bench in our hallway because it had plain colors. To add some more character, I took some other decorations like the "family" and some vases and silver curly string as well as a small candle. To take this image, I sat on the bench and took it at an angle where you can see everything, pretty clear. I edited this image a lot. There were a lot of little touch- ups that needed to be made. To start, I clone stamped out some weird reflections I was getting from the light coming in from the window. I also clone stamped out a weird mark that was on one of the picture frames that was slightly distracting. After that, I brightened the lighting and the colors, then to complete it, I put it in black and white so that everything looked together and nothing was distracting anything from another. I feel like this photo is strong because it's a very emotional, family and happy filled image. It uses informal balance, sharp focus, repetition and grouping, and selective focus. I'm proud of this image because it has a lot of meaning and still follows the requirements of this project.
