Leading Lines

This image was taken very in the moment. It was around 10:00 am and I was watching tv and notice the sunlight shining through the windows. The lines that were created with the shadows of the windows which automatically made me think of leading lines. When I went to take a photo originally, my cat wasn't sitting there so the image was rather boring and the lines weren't really "leading" towards anything. After about 5 minutes of trying to figure out what I could put on the floor to make the lines leading towards something, my cat sat down right in the sun. It was perfect. This image uses leading lines and rule of thirds more than anything else. I really like the texture and patterns of the rug she's sitting on because it adds more depth to the image. To edit the image, I sharpened the focus to make the lines appear more and the textures of my cats fur, and the rug stand out more. I liked the image without a filter because all of the colors were neautral anyways. I just tested out the black and white to see if I liked it and I thought it made the image more dramatic and I liked it. By making it black and white, I also liked how it sort made the lines more of a focus then the cat. I struggled with deciding whether or not I should crop the image. In the upper left corner, I was thinking that it was too dark, and it took away from my main focus but when I tried cropping it, the image almost looked too busy and unbalanced so I decided to keep it. I'm happy with this image, it was a very impulse capture unlike my usual ones and I'm proud of how it turned out.
