Altered Negative

For this project we had to take an image (it didn't have to be a picture we took) and somehow alter it to make it more unique and change it in some way. To create my image I went through a bag of film from the classroom that had a bunch of random rolls of pictures people took and found this picture of trees. I cut out the individual image of the trees from the roll so that I could alter it. After cutting it out, I took a needle and scrated out the outlines of some of the trees so that when I developed it, it would add some more texture. I took it into the darkroom and exposed the paper for 7 seconds. After developing it I noticed that the scratches didn't really come out how I wanted so I needed to find something to make the image more altered. That's when I came up with the idea of painting on it. All I did was mix brown and green then painted over the tree's that I scrated on. I still felt like it wasn't enough so I decided to add some light blue for a foggy affect on the sky. If I could fix this, I noticed that there are some chemical marks from the fix bath so I'd make sure I keep the photo in the fix for all the time it needs. I overall like how it came out because it almost looks like selective color.
