02. Abstract Shoe Drawing

My final product—the abstract shoe drawing shown above—came as a result of three steps. First, I drew three views of my shoe-- the top, side and front facing view. I made sure to try and keep them in accurate size and proportion, and to look almost identical to the shoe itself. After this, I drew a cropped view of one of the shoes on a second piece of paper in an area that I thought was interesting but not too clustered with shapes and lines. This was one of my three boxes on the second image shown above. I cropped this image down twice more on the same piece of paper until I had a final cropped view. I blew this image up on a third piece of paper and then began my abstract shoe drawing. I created a variety of shapes and used many colors in sharpie to bind this piece together and I finished with the picture shown above. I decided to make a lot of patterns that repeat and I tried to make a focal point on the drawing. I could probably have incorporated more texture but overall I am happy with my final drawing.
