Man-Made

Artist Statement:

The subject of this image is someone's art work. I took this picture of it showcased in the Art Room. This image was made by developing it with a spray bottle and nozzle to put the developer in certain spots, rather than developing the whole image. I also chose to made the image smaller in the altered version to made it more visable; as well as make it easier to create the illusion of drips. I chose to create this image because I liked how creative the art was, and was a good image idea when capturing man-made objects. In the original (below), the art is off-centered which helps to showcase space as an element of design. Some of the compositional techiques used in this image were angle down; throughout the image. As well as Informal balance; the art being on the left, and the materials on the right. This image also showcases low-key lighting; as the development time was probably too short. My project evolved a lot because I had completed this twice. The first time, nothing had developed. The second, I was able to salvage some of the negatives to complete it, even though, you can see it at first glace. I also tried to problem-solving through out this assigment, which was frustrating at times. The meaning behind this image is that you can use so many different kinds of art, combined, to create something. This can relate to my life because, in my opinion, taking different arts and combining them can be a really interesting, creative process, and it can also have 2 distinct messages; for example, in my case, the creator and the image. If i am being completely honest, I hate this whole project. This project was a learning factor for me; which I will take into consideration into my next assignment. Although I was frustrated through this assignment, I was able to problem-solve, with what I had and perservere through the process.
