Concentration

Concentration: Plants & Landscape

  • What is the central idea of your concentration?

The central idea of my concentration is to show that plants and landscapes are just as important as humans are. I believe that photography is used to showcase real-world problems, and just how damaging they can be. I chose to photograph land and plants, because this is how beautiful they can be if we don't take them for granted. If we continue to take them for granted, we won't be able to survive as a species because they are vital for our survival, just as we are vital for their survival. If we care about our plants (& landscapes), they will care for us by giving their potential to the Earth.

  • How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea?

This work showcases the idea based my concentration because, for example, in my Magnification & Reflection image, there is a magnifying glass focused on the plant leaves. If we are put our focus on plants, and how they help us in many ways [air purifying, oxygen, etc], we will be able to preserve the world, for the better, and help create a better world for the coming generation(s). Plants are an amazing feature that the world has given us, and as [mostly] renewable source, we can use it as an advantage by growing more of them to stop the use/creation of greenhouse gases and other polluting factors. For instance, the use of greenhouse gases also destroys plants and landscapes, which is sending a very important message that we need to pay attention to before it's too late.
