Leading Lines

Artist Statement

The subject of this image is the street. The setting of this image is a parking lot, with snow on each side. There are also cars in the top left corner. There are trees on the right side of the image. I chose to create this image because the street or line had started at a unique angle. I also chose to create this image because of how the street goes to different directions. I had taken the original photo and edited to black & white. I also had darkened the shadows to create a mysterious image. I also had lowered the temperature of the image to create an off-white hue in the snow portions of the image. The compositions I had used was leading lines. The street at the bottom leads to the top which is the trees. The street also leads your eyes to the high point of the image where the street turns into another one. My project didn’t evolve in a way. The meaning behind my image is just how different leading lines can be, and how it can contribute to the message the viewers create. This image can relate to my life because it reminds me of watching the trees pass by on a highway. It’s also very peaceful to watch the trees pass by, and almost hypnotizes you. Nothing about this image bothers me, I just believe I could have done something less simple.
