Artist Statement

The subject of this image is broccoli. The setting of this image is a black background. This image was made by me holding the stem of broccoli, and taking the image with the other. I had taken this image in front of a countertop, but the flash had cancelled it out. I chose to create this specific image because of the purpose of this project, and the vividness of the green. I also decided to create this because the lighter & darker shades of green balance out each other. This image showcases soft focus to the broccoli because of the background being less visible. My project evolved by not knowing how to showcase monochromatic color, and i didn't know what to photograph. The meaning/story behind this image is being healthy, and how it can benefit you, This image relates to my life because of the guilt after eating a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's in one sitting.
