Film

Artist Statement:

For this assignment, we had taken a walk around the school. Mostly around the new track & field as well as the little playground area. We had processed the negatives/roll of film. After processing, you'd need to cut the negatives, and put them into a clear file. Then, make a contact sheet which is basically an overview of the negatives. After that you would decide which negative you'd want to make a print with (5x7 or 8x10). Expose it for whatever looks the best on the test strip (I did 8 seconds). For this image, I had taken an angle up image of a gutter while walking around the playground area. I liked how the water was flowing out of the tunnel and thought it was a cool image to capture. I thought this print was very successful, i did have a bit of struggles with figuring out the print process and how it works but I slowly overcame it and I had successfully had made it and i think it turned out really good. I had also messed up the borders, so I would just be careful next time and make sure the borders are straight. my favorite parts is how the water is coming out of the tunnel.
