Primary Color

Artist Statement

The subject of this image is three buildings. This image was made by first, editing the red into the picture as the building on the right side was pink. I, then, added a filter to make the image lighter, and brighter. For this image, I wanted to find color that would showcase primary color best. I chose to create this image because I really liked how the old architechture helped you step into the past of Viejo [Old] San Juan, Puerto Rico. In this image, I used composition techniques such as Rule of Thirds which can be found through-out the whole picture. The balconies are in the upper thirds and the windows/doors are in the lower thirds. For this image, I changed the color of the building, and I tried to make it most realistic as possible. The meaning behind this image is how old buildings and architecture can help you see the past, in the present. This image relates to my life because I love learning about history, especially about European and Spanish culture.
