The following instructions provide details on using the poll generator to create a .csv file that can be uploaded to seminar sessions from within the Brightspace course. The poll generator assists with the creation of basic polls. Advanced polls and quizzing features are available from within the Zoom session or the host’s account page outside of Brightspace.
Access the poll generator.
Enter a title for your poll. Polls can have multiple questions
Enter the question text
Select the answer type (multi-select or single answer)
Enter the answer choice options
Add additional answer choices as needed
Add additional questions to the poll as needed
Export the poll as a .csv file
(Optional) Add a second poll with another set of questions to be used in the same seminar session.
Use the Export All button to create a .csv file with multiple polls to upload into a seminar session.
The exported file may appear at the bottom of your browser window or in the downloads folder on your computer.
Access Seminar from the More Tools menu in the course in Brightspace.
Click the topic name of the session to open the details for that session.
Scroll to the very bottom of the session details page and click the Import CSV button on the right.
Locate and select the poll file. Click Open to upload the file for use in the seminar session.
Once the poll has been added, you can see the poll information at the bottom of the session details page.
Toggle to expand the poll information and see the question(s) that have been added.
The poll can be deleted if necessary.
Note:
Poll .csv files must be added individually to each seminar session.
The same .csv file can be imported into multiple seminar sessions if you would like to use the same questions/polls in each session.
Hosts can choose to create breakout rooms based on the participants’ poll answers. For example, the meeting host may want to split breakout rooms based on participants who share similar interests.
