The banner widget appears at the top of a course homepage. A standard image displays in all courses and may only be updated by the curriculum team.
This widget presents the first 2-3 sentences of an Announcement, along with a small thumbnail image. The default image is the Purdue Global icon but you are able to change the image.
Users can click the announcement header (1) or ‘Read More’ (2) link to view the entire announcement.
You can click the Show All Announcements (3) to view all announcements in the course.
The Visual Table of Contents (TOC) widget displays each course module’s title and image. Learners can click on the question mark icon to reveal a description of the module.
The Visual TOC also acts as a progress tracker, showing learners the topics completed out of those available.
Usage:
Clicking on the tile will navigate you to the root of the module.
Alternatively, clicking the document icon on the bottom of the tile will navigate you to the next topic in the module.
This widget provides access to and a quick overview of course events.

Since the calendar widget is user specific, all course calendars associated with Brightspace are available in the widget. This is not to be confused with your PG Gmail Calendar. The settings in the calendar widget will only affect Brightspace calendar views.
Create Events
Events created are specific to the course they are created in and will be visible to everyone enrolled in that class unless visibility is restricted using the 'Add Restriction' button. Event Visibility may be set by days, hours, or minutes.
Select Create Event to open the creation window. Add the event details. Scroll down and provide the relevant date/time, recurrence, restriction, and location information. When all information has been entered select Create and the event should now appear in the calendar widget. From the event title you can choose to edit the event, remove the content connection or delete the event.
The Activity Feed widget is an area that allows instructors to share files and communicate with students.
The Activity Feed can be used to post the Faculty Profile at the start of the term. Faculty can post their contact information, picture, bio, and any other pertinent information about themselves.
