PREPARATION OF PRELIMINARY DOCUMENTS
Submission of Important Documents to Project 6 (Feb 11)
These documents include a memorandum of agreement and a letter of intent
Creation and Sending of Initial Survey to Project 6 Elementary School (Feb 18)
We created an intiial survey Google Form to gauge the respondents appreiciation and familiarity with STEM subject. 22 respondents responded as we told them the survey is entirely optional
PREPARATION OF STEMSaya MODULES
Coordination of List of Experiments with Gatekeeper (Feb 11)
We finalized a list of experiments and materials to be included in the kit with the gatekeeper through a Google Meet
Finding PSHS-Main Consultants For the Modules (Feb - March)
This took one of the longest steps as the consultants usually took days or even weeks to respond to our email requests. Some teachers rejected our requests as they were busy with their own hectic schedules. Eventually, we were able to find 4 consultants for our modules who are the following:
BIOLOGY - Ma'am Danah Purification PHYSICS - SIr Justin Alvarez
CHEMISTRY - Ma'am Yna Mongcal MATH - Sir Mario Danilo Llanura
Creation of Draft Modules (Feb - March)
While finding for consultants, our group did draft modules which will be reviewed and checked by our consultants.
Revision and Finalization of Modules (March - April 20)
This step also took long since it took days or even weeks for our consultants to respond to our draft module revision requests. Also, it took time for us to respond to their comments too(which sometimes were a lot). Finally, our last module was ready for release on April 20.
Printing of STEMSaya Modules (April 21 - April 25)
The finalized STEMSaya modules were printed in PSHS-Main which were collected on April 25
PREPARATION OF MATERIALS
Procurement of Materials (Feb - March)
While doing the modules, we procured the rest of the non-modular materials(bottles, vinegar, baking soda, etc.) from PSHS - Main and any remaining materials not bought by PSHS - Main from a supplier.
PREPARATION of STEMSaya KITS
Packing of STEMSaya Kits (April 25 - April 27)
All the materials and the modules were packed into their respective kits.
Each STEMSaya kit contains the following materials to achieve the project's main goals:
MATH EXPERIMENT
For the math experiment, the students made 3D shapes from 2D nets
CHEMISTRY EXPERIMENT
For the chemistry experiment, the students inflated a balloon using carbon dioxide gas
BIOLOGY EXPERIMENT
For the biology experiment, the students made a human lung diaphragm model.
PHYSICS EXPERIMENT
For the physics experiment, the students made a centripetal force board
Modules were added to aid the students in each experiment included in the kit.
A QR code was added in the module containing the following items: supplementary video links for the experiments, pdf copies of the modules, video of the orientation, and a post-survey which served as the final output of this project
A plastic envelope was added to store the modules and some of the materials.
PROGRAM PROPER
Delivery of STEMSaya Kits to Project 6 Elementary School (April 28)
With the coordination with our gatekeeper, our kits were delivered to Proejct 6 Elementary School on April 28. The kit dissemination to the kids will then be handled by the gatekeeper.
Orientation of STEMSaya Kits to Project 6 Elementary School (April 29)
We oriented 35 kids and a co-teacher about STEMSaya. Specifically, we oriented them on why we did this project, the contents of each experiment included in the kits, the modules, the post-survey, and on ways of how to reach out to us in case they encounter problems while doing the experiments.
Experiment Proper (May 2 - May 14)
The kids will do the experiments independently between May 2 to May 14 (this timeframe was recommended by our gatekeeper as the kids will have time to do the experiments due to the upcoming elections which means thatn they do not have synchronous classes). They will answer a post-survey which will tabulate their appreication and familiarity of STEM after doing the experiments and their experiences with the experiments
POST-PROGRAM
Collection and Tabulation of Post-Survey Results (May 14 - May 16)
The results of the post-survey will be compared with whatever data we got from the initial survey and will be tabulated in STEMSaya's google site.
