The Philippine Science High School System is a specialized high-school system under the Department of Science and Technology. The Main Campus, located in Diliman, Quezon City, was founded in 1964. By the end of the 1980s, the school started building regional campuses all over the country.
We are the leading science high school in the Asia Pacific Region preparing our scholars to become globally competitive Filipino scientists equipped with 21st century skills and imbued with the core values of truth, excellence, and service to nation.

The Philippine Science High School, operating under one System of Governance and Management, provides scholarship to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics. The PSHS System offers an education that is humanistic in spirit, global in perspective, and patriotic in orientation. It is based on a curriculum that emphasizes science and mathematics and the development of well-rounded individuals. The PSHS System prepares its students for careers in Science and Technology and contributes to nation building by helping the country attain a critical mass of professionals and leaders in Science and Technology.

Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Robotics can be applied in every part of our daily lives. Robotics can be applied to multiple wide fields such as medicine, work, transportation and many others to help improve efficiency and reduce risk. Robotics can also be applied to smaller more specific scenarios like gardening, cooking or even cleaning. Robotics technology influences every aspect of work and home, and the potential for robotics to help is limitless (EU Robotics, 2017).
As the premier Science High School in the country, Philippine Science High School - Main Campus (PSHS-MC) is set to be the leader in science and technology education. Despite this, there is a significant lack of robotics-related education or activities present in the school curriculum.
Students would have a newfound knowledge and appreciation for robotics.
To lay the groundwork for robotics to be more widely taught in academic institutions, inspiring and teaching other students in the future.
The main goal of the project is to educate children about robotics with the use of video lectures and to have children experiment with robotics through the use of hands-on demonstration.
The project was done online through an online video lecture, either live video meetings or a recording, which gave the students an opportunity to have a small taste in robotics. Additionally, a live demonstration was used to further aid the lecture. The students' knowledge will then was tested on the matter through the use of interactive online quizzes.
The grade 7 and 8 students were very interested in our discussion. They were quick to respond to our questions, and asked us many questions of their own related to robotics. They also paid close attention to both the presentation and the demonstration of components, and were interacting with us during the whole process.
Because of the limits of the medium, it was hard to properly demonstrate the electronics used in the webinar. The students were unable to interact properly with the electronics. Assuming an in person version of the event, then the students can interact properly with the electronics.
Video recordings and presentations would be used to ensure continuity after our exit from the community. Kits would be donated to the school as well, so students could still be able to use them. Additionally, student volunteers would also be able to assist teaching newer students.
Overall, the audience was deeply engaged in our presentation, and I believe that our project is successful in getting these students to pursue a hobby or interest in robotics in the near future. One thing I recommend is having a better demonstration of the electronics used. Because of the nature of the webinar, we were not able to properly showcase the electronics to their full extent. A live demonstration, or better cameras and related video equipment, should help students to better see and understand the electronics at work.
