The webinar proper was held on March 16, 2022 (Wednesday). This was conducted through Zoom, and it was also livestreamed through the Facebook page of AKSIS.
At the start of our project, we needed to know what the needs of the PSHS-MC community are. We released an information survey to see what the base knowledge of the community is and to see what questions they have for our speakers. This was to ensure that whatever information we give the community, it would be what is needed.
With this information, we could outline what we need to discuss in the webinar and reach out to our expert speakers. We contacted Mx. Ryan Silvero first, and through them, we got connected to Mr. Jeff Cagandahan. We chose them for their expertise on the topics we needed. We had meetings with our speakers to discuss the scope, the audience, what we expect of our speakers, and what they expect from us. This way we were able to coordinate with each other and ensure that the flow is smooth.
With all of our content prepared, we were able to start preparing for the webinar by writing a script, making pubmats for the announcement of the webinar, who our speakers are, the topic of our webinar, and details on how to join. We also prepared a powerpoint based on the content provided to us.
We held a tech run with our speakers and teachers present to go through the flow of the whole program and test our script, slides, and livestreaming. We found a problem with the livestreaming which we were able to resolve before the webinar itself.
During the webinar proper, Adz Albalate and Brandon Batuhinay took charge as the main hosts and introduced our topic, transitioned sections of our webinar, and overall kept the energy and flow of our webinar where it was supposed to be. Our speakers Mx. Ryan Silvero and Mr. Jeff Cagandahan conducted talks running through the basics of SOGIE and Intersex 101 respectively. The forum was conducted by the whole team, linking the lessons to the PSHS-MC experience to make the topic more relevant to the community. Afterward, there was a Q&A session with questions being sent through Slido and being read out by our hosts for our expert speakers to answer. The audience was actively participating, sending in many questions to our speakers which showed their genuine interest.
After the webinar, we sent the participants a post-webinar survey to analyze what they learned and to receive feedback about the execution of our webinar. Webinar highlights were posted as well to summarize the webinar for people who didn't attend the webinar and just for people who would like a digestible recap of the topics discussed.
