To help the poorest of the poor children to have a better life by giving them PEARLS: Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love and Smiles through education, empowerment, nutrition, nourishment, and healthcare.
A world where NO child at no time, should go hungry! No child should be hungry for nutrition, education, shelter, medical services, and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
Because of the ongoing global pandemic, access to education has been more inaccessible than ever, especially for the less fortunate. To help those in need, the Project PEARLS organization started an online learning channel to provide free and accessible education.
Our group aims to participate in Project PEARLS's education program through its Online Learning Volunteer Opportunity. This project aims to help provide children with alternative and accessible free video lectures to be uploaded to the PEARLS Learning Channel on Zillearn. This project will help Project PEARLS by providing them with learning materials that are highly specific to the needs of the learners. It will also help them complete their database of video lectures.
Apart from our main objective of helping Project PEARLS to complete the video tutorials, we also aim to accomplish the following objectives: Provide the assessments for the video lectures and create simple but effective video lectures
For each lesson/topic, Project PEARLS only requires one Video Lecture and one 10-point assessment. Each member of the group was assigned with only one lesson.
Project PEARLS' Orientation. The group attended attended Project PEARLS' Orientation for Online Learning Volunteers program where they discussed the procedures on how to pick and secure a topic, required forms and documents, and guidelines for the video lecture.
Securing the lesson for the video lectures. Project PEARLS' tracks their collection of video lectures using a Topic List spreadsheet which contains all the grade levels and lessons that are available for creating a video lecture. Through this, the volunteers were able to choose and secure a topic.
Filing up of consent and online volunteering forms. Consent forms for the use of the video lectures were filed up. Additional information was also provided that will be used to create a volunteer profile in the Zillearn channel.
Review of sample video lectures and reference modules. Project PEARLS provided a lesson module for each lesson that will serve as a guide for the video lectures of the volunteers.
Creation of the Video Lectures and Assessments. For each topic, one video and one ten-point assessment/quiz will be required.

April 23, 2022 Finalizing the script and Powerpoint slides for the lecture video, Creating the questions and answer key for the assessment.
April 27, 2022 Final recording of the video lecture and submission of the video lecture and assessment to Project PEARLS.
Through the creation of the video lectures and assessments, the group was able to apply their skills and knowledge of the lessons. The group was able to create and submit video lectures and assessments for the online learning channel of the organization. Although the video lectures were few, it was an important step in the completion of the online learning channel.
Although the video lectures and assessments were already submitted, we still haven't received any feedback from the organization. We still haven't received any comments on the video lectures and whether we need to revise them or not. Because of this, the conduct of a post-assessment survey was also not possible.
The video lectures and assessments provided helped the online learning channel complete its database of learning materials. The learning channel now covers most of the lessons of their subjects. When our videos are approved, the video lectures will be uploaded to Facebook, Youtube, and their online learning channel in Zillearn. The video lectures will then be available and accessible in their channel and can be used for future projects that will provide children with free online education.
Currently, Project PEARLS' online learning channel database is almost complete. As such, the project ends when all the remaining lessons and subjects have their video lectures and assessments. But this might be open for change since the online learning channel only covers three subjects and only grades from 5 to 10.
The Project PEARLS' main goal is to end the cycle of poverty by providing the less fortunate with education, health care, and skills development. The organization was able to provide alternative and accessible education through the creation of an online learning channel with lecture videos created by volunteers like us. Because of the online learning channel, the less fortunate children of the community will still be able to continue their education even during the pandemic.
Pisay and Project PEARLS have been in close ties with each other over the previous years. But due to the pandemic, the Project PEARLS organization may have become busier and may change the schedules of their projects. Thus, we recommend that future volunteers contact them as early as possible to avoid delays and have more time for video consultations and gathering feedback.
Because of the few available lessons for creating a video lecture, we also recommend future volunteers to try and participate in the organization's Brain Booster Program, an Arts & Crafts program.
