Material and Knowledge Contribution Benefits
The materials we donated to the students will provide lasting benefits.
Pencils and erasers: These could last up to 5-10 months, not accounting for possible breakage
Sharpeners and envelopes: These are expected to last longer than the pencils
Food: Free for the teachers to use as they see fit
Crayons and coloring books: These will help the younger students develop their fine motor skills
Notebooks: This will help the students take notes, as they would have a greater note-taking capacity
The lessons at the school will also provide:
Critical Thinking skills and interest in STEM
Awareness in food safety
Future Projects
Our project will aid future projects through:
Promoting our project to Batch 2024, which would allow for them to conduct their SS6 projects in Canumay
Through information about the school in our Filipino research, future projects would know the condition of the school and the best way to aid the community
Conclusion
The project was ultimately a success, substantially improving the education of the students at Canumay ES.
However, there were some problems with the outcome, such as the lack of funds and the limitation of one visit to the community for implementation.
Recommendations
For future projects, the lack of funds could be prevented through finding other sources of funds.
Future projects could also spend more than one visit to Canumay to hold activities we were unable to accomplish such as more lessons, experiments, and video screenings.
