The initial plan was to conduct a seminar featuring some of the shoemakers under MASIDO's guidance. The seminar would spread awareness about the current state of the shoemakers while also promoting the idea of online selling to them. Supposedly, the head of MASIDO himself, Mr. Noel Binza Box (shown in blue on the right), would also participate in this seminar and would have given a talk about the current hurdles upsetting MASIDO. However, following a series of unforeseen events, Mr. Box had to cancel his part of the seminar due to health concerns. This, and the fact that most of the other shoemakers also could not participate, meant a redesign of the process of the group was necessary.
Nevertheless, in accordance with the initial plan, indirect interviews with the shoemakers were still conducted; these were done through MASIDO and would not have been possible without the intervention of Mr. Box. Mr. Box was also interviewed directly, and commented on the current state of the Marikina Shoe Industry while giving insights on the perspectives of the shoemakers under MASIDO.
In lieu of the initial plan to hold a seminar, a shoe bazaar accompanied by a number of online promotions was conducted. The goal had been to supplement some of the shortcomings experienced by the businesses during the pandemic. The bazaar took place during the week of April 11-14 at the Back Lobby of the Philippine Science High School - Main Campus, while online pubmats were distributed primarily through Facebook the week prior. Eventually, online selling was carried out through a GForm the week hence.
