RST - Sports Franchise

Objective: This activity will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate the technological concepts learned in this course and combine them into a final project using various processes and techniques. Assessment will take into consideration both the process and the product.

ASSIGNMENT

Your Management Company has been hired to create PR material for an upcoming expansion franchise for the sport of your choosing.

In this project, you will be responsible for creating 6 things:

- - - Team Logo
    - Athletic Jersey
    - Player Card
    - Fan Hoodie
    - Magazine Cover
    - Team Collage / Wallpaper

Part I – Your New Team Logo (1 hour)

- - - Create a new and unique logo for your franchise team.
    - The best logos are elegantly simple and look great at any size.
    - Your logo can contain a team name and/or city but does not have to.
    - Research other Logos and make note of things that work and don't work about them.
    - Think about your Color Palette and stick to it with all your designs. Typically 2-3 colors.
    - PHOTOSHOP SIZE: AROUND 800 x 800 pixels.

Part II – New Team Jersey (1.5 hours)

- - - Create a mock-up of your new team jersey. (Front and Back)
    - Use one of the supplied jerseys below and include your logo and color scheme, name, and number.
    - To add an outline around your letters or design, use Layer Styles and select Stroke. You can add more than one stroke with the plus sign.
    - Download a blank Hockey Jersey Template.
    - Download a blank Esport/Soccer Jersey Template.
    - Download a blank Basketball Jersey Template.
    - Download a blank Football Jersey Template.

Part III – Player Card (Photoshop) (1-2 days)

- - - Create a rookie/player card for a player drafted to your team.
    - This can be YOU if you want. We can take your photo or you can use one you already have.
    - Modify an existing player (switch colors, insert your logo, etc.)
    - Add your text, logo, and frame elements to finish off your card.
    - SIZE: 1200 x 1700 pixels.
    - Things to consider are design, team colors, fonts, spacing, etc.

Part IV – Fan Hoodie (Photoshop) (1-2 days)

- - - Create a team merchandise hoodie.
    - Use your team colors and logo. (you can change the color of the main hoodie using the color adjustment layer.)
    - To add an outline around your letters or design, use Layer Styles and select Stroke. You can add more than one stroke with the plus sign.
    - Download a blank Hoodie Template

Part V – Sports Magazine Cover (Photoshop) (1-2 days)

- - - Create a full-page Magazine cover about the team or a player.
    - Once again, this can be YOU if you want. We can take your photo or you can use one you already have.
    - SIZE: 1800 x 2400 pixels.
    - You are being marked on your layout and design choices.

Part VI – Team Wallpaper (Photoshop) (1-2 days)

- - - You are to create a "wallpaper" poster for your team.
    - Use Drop Shadows and other Layer Style effects to add depth to your text.
    - SIZE: 1920 x 1080 pixels.
    - 10-15 unique elements
    - Things to consider are design, team colors, graphics, fonts, spacing, etc.
