Brushes, Eraser, Layers and Blending Modes
Color 5-8 simple, 2-3 medium, or 1 extremely detailed photo.
Time on task should be around 2-3 full periods.
Focus on one image at a time.
Search for a large detailed photo(s) in Google on a topic of your choosing.
Try and find pictures that don’t have a lot of Full Black or Full White in them as these areas will not color.
In Photoshop, convert your photo to Black and White by clicking Image > Adjustments > Desaturate
Create a New Layer (click on the little paper icon next to the trash can) and set that Layer's Bending Mode to Color. (or try other blending modes - Overlay, Darken, or Multiply)
Choose a solid paintbrush (hardness set to 100%), an appropriate size, and color, then begin coloring.
You can use the keyboard shortcuts [ ] to increase or decrease your brush size.
Mistakes can be easily fixed by using the Eraser tool.
Image Selections - Image quality (large size and full of detail - very little all-white or all-black)
Photoshop - Correct use of the tools to colorize the images. Good use of colors and painting techniques.
Submitted work - 5-8 simple, 2-3 medium, or 1 extremely detailed photo.
Level 4 is going beyond what is asked and through the detail in your coloring, the difficulty of your image, time on task, and the overall effort in your completed work(s).
